We define a lived experience as someone who has experienced mental health problems, survived living with a mental health problem, cared for someone with or has had a mental health problem, been bereaved by a mental health problem, or been touched by a mental health problem in another way. We want to collaborate with people with lived experience of mental health problems so they have an equal seat at the table when developing policy, strategy, services and programs as well as research and evaluation in the belief that this will enrich our understanding of living with mental health problems.
